Away from the screen
Weekends, mostly. A keyboard, two cats, a telescope, a thousand-piece box on the floor, and six years of teaching that never quite counted as work. The drawings live on the plates page; everything else is here.
Teaching and mentoring
Six years of it, mostly unpaid and mostly on weekends: mentorship cycles, undergraduate workshops, judging panels and the odd Adobe XD session. The habit of explaining the work is what turned into owning the system. The full record sits on the profile.
Music
Sings, and plays keyboard
Once with the UCSC Music Circle, and still the thing the evening turns into when the laptop closes. A guitar leans against the wall behind the chair.
Two cats, one iPad
They supervise. The second photograph is also the proof of authorship for the green bird on the plates page: same drawing, same hand, same cat asleep behind it.
Games
Playing under the handle Pamsdemic
A wide rotation rather than one title, and whatever the co-op night calls for. Two rigs in one dark room and two cats at the glass door, which is the household in a single frame.
Bricks and pieces
Step 1,379 of a 7,541-piece build, and two thousand jigsaw pieces waiting on the shelf. Both are the same pleasure as a component library: sort, stage, assemble, do not skip the manual.
Traveling
Hill country, in the rain
Rain on the glass, coffee going cold, headphones on the tray. The point of the trip, more or less.
Stargazing
Carried into the middle of the sitting room
Because that is the direction the doorway faces. Aligning the finder takes longer than the looking does.
Reading is on the list too, and has no photograph. Consider that a gap in the record rather than in the habit.
